Thunder Storms = Cuddles from my sweet lil man!!!

So last night after a awesome work out Scott and I were settling in to watch a couple of our favorite Sunday shows and then the storms rolled in. It was about 9:00...Mason had been a sleep since 7:00, but that all changed when the wind start howling and the hell rumpled the windows. I soon heard my lil man start crying a very different cry then I'm use to hearing so I immediately went up to his room and scooped him up and assured him that mommy and daddy were here and that he was safe. I took him down stairs because the power kept going out and called my parents to make sure that it was just a storm that we were getting because our satellite and power were both out. Okay so now here comes the sweet part...after about 30 minutes of holding Mason and him looking around thinking what in the heck is going on (he usually sleeps right through storms, but this one was a little different) I decided to take him back up to his nursery. I grab his lovey and blanket and rock him in the rocking chair where he immediately becomes limp and rest his face against my chest. I'm eating this up because Mason is sooo on the go these days that he rarely stops to give mommy any cuddles. I hold him and rock him for a bit to make sure he knows he safe...lighting is still lingering so every once in a while his room lights up and I get a glimpse at his eyes just staring at me in trance. Now here's the part that brought a few tears to my eyes...he lets out a big sigh and says....mama and then closes his eyes. A little slice of heaven I tell ya. Thank you Lord for the amazing storm that took me away from my regular shows and gave me the opportunity to hold my little boy and just stop time for just a bit...I'm so thankful!

Things on my mind...

I'm really trying to be a better blogger for my readers...haha! So here I am with my cup of coffee watching the TODAY show, still in my pajamas. Moving on to a few things on my mind.

(1) I'm starting to get really tired of all the MJ coverage. I think it's time for us to move on and let his family move on. Yes, I think he was awesome and he was an amazing performer, but I haven't heard anything new from him in 12+ years. Rest in paradise MJ.
(2)I think it's time to get Mason some overnight diapers...lately he has leaked through his diaper when I go up to get him in the morning.
(3)Need to find a new bikini for our trip to Cabo...which is 3 weeks away.
(4)What are we going to do today?!?! Most of my friends are traveling this week and Mase and I didn't get out of the house at all yesterday. I would like to go to North Park and stroll around there. Back in the day (before Mason) I use to go to North Park Mall at least twice a week. I don't think I've been in about 4 months. Wow...times have changed.
(5)Side note...Mason is sitting next to me eating his grape jelly buttered toast and repeatedly saying yum ummm yumm ummmm. I think he's a fan!

(6)Last but not least...oh great...Mase just decided that he would rub his head with his grape jelly hands...AWESOME...anyway...Last but not least, I'm looking for a pair of New Balance 992 velcro size 5 (see below). They're $40.00 and I know Scott will kill me if I paid that for them since about 2 months ago I bought Mase a pair of Strite Rites that cost me $50 and he's almost grown out of them (my kid has a giant foot). So...if anyone runs across a pair like at Kid2Kid or something similar please let me know. :)

My living room has turned into Toys R Us

Since Mason's birthday he my living room has turned into Toys R Us. Before he had a brown toy chest that all of his "baby" toys fit in quite neatly, but not anymore...all of the baby toys have been retired and all the new birthday toys are too big to fit into my cute little toy chest purchased at World Market that was a great accessory to my living room decor. Oh well the next picture is where I use to store my pictures and other decorative items...now that where Mason's toys are stored when they're not scattered on my floor...oh well I knew it was coming.

On another note...I was holding Mason this morning and I went to turn the IPOD on in the IPOD player and before I could even get it on he immediately puts his hands in the air and starts rocking back and fourth...I guess he knows we are about to JAM OUT!!!

Okay my lovely readers (all 2 of you...LOL) I'm signing off time to put Mase down for a nap and for me to jump into a bikini and mow the yard.

XOXO,

JennyJenn

It's been a while

Okay I realize it's been soooo long since I've posted, but I've been so busy being a mother that I haven't had a lot of time and once Mason has gone to bed I find myself working out or getting my crock pot recipes together so my blog ends up being neglected. My next post will probably be the biggest post every...you see my Little Man turned 1 this past week so I have lots of pictures and a letter that I wrote to my boy. Since being home for a little over a month now I can say that I am having the time of my life. I have finally found my dream job!!! Not every day is perfect, but most of them our. Okay...I have to finish this cup of coffee and then go and get my little man up. I leave you with a few teaser pictures from our Birthday Week extravaganza!!!

Dusted off my running shoes

This morning I finally dusted off my running shoes. One of my best friends is training for the Rockwall triathlon so she's been running in the morning so I decided to join her. I'm not training for the triathlon, but I don't mind running with her. I have NO interest in a triathlon, but I'm really impressed that she is working so hard towards that goal...good for her. We got up this morning at 5:15 and ran around our neighborhood with the help of some tunes from Duffy and Adele I made it through.

We're heading south to Austin the weekend to see Sister and Brother in-law...can't wait. They are both such awesome cooks so I'm really looking forward to the fiddles and a glass of wine on their oh so cool deck. Lil' Sis will have to watch from the side lines because she's a little over 8 weeks pregnant. OOOOhhh that reminds me maybe we can fit in some baby shopping or at least browsing because she doesn't know what she's having yet.

Okay...that's all for now. Next post I will post our pictures from Mason's first trip to the Zoo...I have a few videos to where he got up close and personal with a Gorilla!

Happy Mother's Day

Well today was my first Mother's Day and boy did I enjoy...although my little guys has completely wore me out!!! This morning we woke up and Scott decided that he wanted to take us to the zoo. We went around this time last year while I was pregnant. It was so much fun to be there with Mason and see him experience it for the first time. It's hard to believe that I've been a mother for almost a year...where did the time go? This little guy came into my life 10 months ago and flipped my world up side down...I can't imagine what it would be like to not be a mother...what did I do with all my spare time? What would it be like to not have spit up on my shoulder, what would it be like to not have a crusty Mum-Mum stuck to my jeans...I never want to know! As I put him to bed to night and rocked him and sang God Speed Little Man he looked up at me smiled and then burried his head in my chest and just relaxed. Little slices of heaven I tell ya! In honor of Mother's day I've posted a few of my favorite pics of Mason and me.
