This morning I finally dusted off my running shoes. One of my best friends is training for the Rockwall triathlon so she's been running in the morning so I decided to join her. I'm not training for the triathlon, but I don't mind running with her. I have NO interest in a triathlon, but I'm really impressed that she is working so hard towards that goal...good for her. We got up this morning at 5:15 and ran around our neighborhood with the help of some tunes from Duffy and Adele I made it through.
We're heading south to Austin the weekend to see Sister and Brother in-law...can't wait. They are both such awesome cooks so I'm really looking forward to the fiddles and a glass of wine on their oh so cool deck. Lil' Sis will have to watch from the side lines because she's a little over 8 weeks pregnant. OOOOhhh that reminds me maybe we can fit in some baby shopping or at least browsing because she doesn't know what she's having yet.
Okay...that's all for now. Next post I will post our pictures from Mason's first trip to the Zoo...I have a few videos to where he got up close and personal with a Gorilla!
Well today was my first Mother's Day and boy did I enjoy...although my little guys has completely wore me out!!! This morning we woke up and Scott decided that he wanted to take us to the zoo. We went around this time last year while I was pregnant. It was so much fun to be there with Mason and see him experience it for the first time. It's hard to believe that I've been a mother for almost a year...where did the time go? This little guy came into my life 10 months ago and flipped my world up side down...I can't imagine what it would be like to not be a mother...what did I do with all my spare time? What would it be like to not have spit up on my shoulder, what would it be like to not have a crusty Mum-Mum stuck to my jeans...I never want to know! As I put him to bed to night and rocked him and sang God Speed Little Man he looked up at me smiled and then burried his head in my chest and just relaxed. Little slices of heaven I tell ya! In honor of Mother's day I've posted a few of my favorite pics of Mason and me.
So last night I had plans with a few girl friends so Scott was on “Baby Duty”… So when I arrived home around 10:00 I look and the video baby monitor to see Mason and I notice that he is wearing only a diaper…why is he not wearing pajamas?!?! Well Scott said that when he was upstairs getting Mason ready for bed he smelled poop so he smells Mason’s backside and sure enough my Little Man had an explosion. Those that have changed Mason lately know that he’s quite the wiggle worm and makes it a little challenging to get his diaper on. While Scott was in the process of changing him Mason grabs the dirty diaper and smears poop all over him and Scott. Scott cleans him up and then he’s so exhausted from that ordeal that he puts him to bed immediately after. Okay, now fast forward 10 minutes…Scott walks over to the monitor and see’s a baby sleeping soundly in just a diaper…he wasn’t about to go up and wake him so he just turned the heat up a few extra degrees. Got to love it!!!
Hmmm...I'm a daughter, sister, wife, mother and native Texan. I've been married to my best friend and love of my life for over 5 years now. In 2008 we added to our family when our precious son was born in July...Mason Charles. I never dreamed being a mother would be this amazing. Just watching him experience all of his first have been unbelievable...and we're just getting started!
