Busy Busy

I really have no business blogging right now....I have so much I need to be doing. It's 7:35 am and we have a play date in Dallas at 10:00am. We are both still in our jammies and Mason has requested pancakes a few time already I have yet to find my way to the kitchen. We both still need showers, oh well some how it will all magically happen right?!?!

Last night my friend Meghan came over after the kids were in bed and we enjoyed a couple of glasses of wine. It was very strange to be sitting in the living room with out the following chaos: toys everywhere and kids running around screaming. It was very nice to say the least! Meghan and I working together with our meal planning. Each week each of us will make a dish and half it with each other to save each of us one night of making dinner. I'm super excited about this.

Got to run.

We woke up on the wrong side of the bed

Not every post can be up beat and happy...not that we had a necessarily bad day, but just a little off. Mason was a little whiney today and I was just out right UNMOTIVATED!!! I blame it on this crappy weather. We are dying to get outside people. So finally at about 3:00 Mason kept going to the door leading to the garage and saying bye-bye so I thought you know what kid I think you have the right idea...so we got dressed (yes I was still in my jammies) and got in the car. We decided to go to Costco. Mase loves Costco and so do I. I can browse while he snacks on "samples"! We had a good time and it was just the change of scenery that we needed.
Mason has stated saying "yes mamma" I've been working on it for a while. He hears "no" so much that I thought we should start working on Yes. He thinks it's pretty funny and usually laughs after he says it.
My sister (http://waltonsinaustin.blogspot.com/) who lives in Austin took the cutest pictures of Landon's first snow. I couldn't resist posting them because the both look like such angels in these pics. Look how great my sis looks after having a baby not too long ago!!!
I don't know about you guys, but I just want eat him...he's soo stinkin cute!!!

Awww...my "baby sis" holding her baby

Productive Monday

So far this Monday has been quite productive. It's almost 2:00 and I'm sitting down for a few to drink a cup of java and knock out a blog post. Today Mason and I went to the Library got a few DVDs for him and a new book for me:
I've just finished painting the base boards in my down stairs bathroom and now I'm ready to start on the walls. Can't wait to show you guys pictures once it's finished! Speaking of pictures... Scott gave me the go ahead to buy a new camera. Can't wait to get my hands on it. What else...dinner's in the crock pot. We are having Ka's Chicken Tacos tonight...yum.
Mason News:
We finally found a pair of shoes for my little guy, but he still needs a few more pairs to play in. We ended up going with a pair at Children's Place that I was completely sold on, but Scott and I were both so tired of looking that we just said whatever...they'll do. See picture below. They're stating to grow on me. By the way Mason has a huge foot. He's in a size 7...what's that all about?!?!

Other exciting news: Scott and I have always going to the Texas Rangers opening game, but last year we didn't because Mase was too small...well this year we're taking him. We are both so excited...I think he will have a blast. I can't wait to see him eating a hot dog and wearing his little Rangers hat. There's several families going and we're all taking our kiddos. What a change that will be.
Better run...Mase's nap time is almost over so I get to get moving!

Today is going to be a great day

Happy Friday Folks!!! The sun is shinning....hallelujah! So...just found out last night that Mason has his 2nd ear infection (he got his 1st one around Christmas). The GOODNEWS is that we caught it early so he started his antibotic last night thanks to my bestie's husband. So far...knock on wood...he has seemed bother by it. Man...we've been hit by a lot lately...molars, ear infections and lots of snot...we are taking it in stride though because it doesn't even begin to compare to what this (http://laylagrace.org) mother is going to through. If you haven't read her blog please know that it is heartbreaking. If you choose not to read it please say a prayer for her and her sweet baby girl Layla.

Yesterday, I went wedding dress shopping with my best friend from High School. She's getting married in Oct. and I'm in the wedding. She told me I had to bring Mason because she thinks he's boy genuious and gets the biggest laughs out of him. Let me just say I was very suprised at how good he was. So before going to the bridal boutique I bought Mason some chicken nuggets and french fries with hopes that that he would stay in his stroller. That worked for about 30 minutes and then he wanted out to get in on the action. When ever any of the girls would walk out in there big puffy dresses he would say Whoa....Wow!!! Too cute! He ran around and talk to everyone and it seemed like most people found him quite entertaining. It was a really fun day and it was great to hang out with my friends.

Okay so because this is MY blog I'm going to brag on my child that's what it's for right?!?! He's so smart ya'll!!! He communitcates so well...we totally have conversations. He loves to say..."I don't know"...and I love when he wakes up in the morning and hear on the monitor "Mommy...where's Mommy" He eats everything...except for little green trees (brocoli) as Steph tried to make him take a bite...he was not having it! He loves the Lori Berkner band! His favorite song is Five Days old...I love it too!

Better run...need to make panakes, many loads of laundry, meal planning and Mason needs new shoes because he has a giant foot!!!

Jenn

Recap

Hi Ya'll! Happy Tuesday. We (Mason & I) are sitting on the couch watching Jack's Big Music Show and drink coffee (me). I'm trying to get motivated to go to the storm, but gosh it's sooo cold outside!!!
Last weeks snow was very pretty, but I'm glad it's gone! I loved watching the quarter size flakes come down all day. Frankly I felt robed this winter because the two times that it snowed Mason was sick and I couldn't risk taking him out to play in it and his cold get any worse. So no cute snow pictures of my little guy in the snow :(
I would like to say a BIG thank you to my mom and dad who kept Mason on Saturday night so Scott and I could enjoy a night out with our friends Kasi and Jeremiah. We had a blast. We had dinner at The Porch (one of the best restaurants I've ever been too) and then had a few drinks at Hotel ZaZa's bar Dragon Fly.
Okay...time to get going. Here's a few pictures that my mom took while we were at her house a few weeks ago.
This picture cracks me up!!!

Molars

The amount of new toothies that Mason has cut in the last few weeks has been crazy...I can't even keep up. He has four new molars and did pretty well cutting them too. I'm glad they're coming in so quick...the sooner we get them over with the happier we are at the Cocca House!!!

Today was a better day for Mason...except that I got thrown up on this morning because Mason starting coughing and had such a serious gag reflex. And just so you know...two seconds before I had just put on my new boots (one of my Christmas gifts from Scott) from Saks 5th Avenue. If anyone know how to get curdled milk off of suede boots...please tell!!!

I'm looking forward to the weekend because Scott and I have plans with our friends Kasi and Jeremiah on Saturday night. Mason is going to spend the night with my mom and dad and we are going to meet our friends for dinner at The Porch. They have the yummiest food!!! Also, this weekend I'm going to make Cake Balls. I've never made them before, but I thought they would be a nice treat for my little man.

That's all friends...hope we see warmer weather soon. Mase and I are sooo tired of being stuck in the house!!!

Loving my baby boy

Yesterday while enjoying a visit with my sister and Baby Landon I noticed MC nose starting to run. Well...by the time we returned home from my mom and dads it was a full fledged cold. This is Mason's second time to be sick in 19 month. The last time he was sick I was a basket case and on edge and so afraid...of what I'm not sure, but just afraid and sooo very sad that my little man didn't feel well. This time a round I still felt sad that Mason was sick, but as one of my wise friends says...it gets easier and I realized that it does. I felt more equipped to handle it this time around and just embraced the snuggle time and extra time I spend rocking him to sleep. Yes, I had to go back up to his room twice after the initial time I put him down, but it was okay...I just loved him and held him...let him wipe his nose on my shirt as many times as he wanted and loved him! As I walk out of his room for the night in his most nasally voice he said: "Nite, Nite...Love You" I melted! He's been saying I Love You to me when I walk out of his room for the night for a while, but as bad as he felt he still had to tell me he loved me. So Blessed!!!

Today has a Sunday kind of feel to it

It's Tuesday and Scott is home today. Scott's napping, Mason's napping and I'm sitting in my office on the couch, feet propped up, laptop in my lap, sweet tea in one hand, looking out the window and listening to Etta James...can this day get any better?!?! I think not! We had lunch at a new cafe in Royse City called Hot Rodz Cafe...very tasty...super cheap. It was the perfect place to lunch because usually we don't like to eat out with Mase much, but this place was super accommodating and laid back. There lunch plates are $5.99 and that includes to sides. Mason and I shared Chicken Fried Steak, mashed potatoes and corn fritters...I know I know...not the healthiest of meals, but we hardly ever eat out so we went all out.

I'm really excited about tomorrow night...not only is it "Girl's Night Out", but we are going to see one of my favorite bands...Cross Canadian Ragweed at Southern Junction which is about 3 miles away from my house. I'm sooo looking forward to Scott getting home from work that night and me saying alright "Mason needs to be fed dinner, given a bath and then put to the bed...love you" and then out the door I go. It's really nice to take a break from being Mom every now and a then and just taking time for you...with in about 10 hr I will be ready to put my "mom hat" back on and get back to my boy.

Alright ya'll I'm out...have a good one!

XO,

Jenn

Coffee Time

Morning Ya'll! So as I sit here drinking my coffee and watching Mason play I thought I would fit a blog post into my day before we get to busy. On today's agenda we are having a play date at my house at 10:00 with my friend Anna and her daughter Gabby (20 months). I really look forward to play dates...usually we have them once a week at some one's house or at the park if it's nice out. I love to watch Mason play with other kids...it's just the cutest thing. Last time her kept giving Gabby kisses and after a while she would grow tired of the kisses and screams out NO! NO!...we got many laughs out of that one. Right now Mason is eating a pop tart on the couch next to me and let me tell ya...he's got quite the mess going on right now, but he's occupied and allowing me to type on the computer so I'll just clean it up later.
Umm...my coffee is so good. Starbucks breakfast blend with Southern Pecan creamer...if you haven't tried you should go buy it right now! It's the best.
Okay...so here's my Mason funny for the day. So as you all know he can say anything these days and repeats anything so we've had to start being a little okay a lot careful about what we say. Words that we wouldn't like to him to repeat. Well...every now and then I'm know and so is Scott to say DAMN. So Mason has really taken to that word and the first time he said it we both laughed because we couldn't believe so now he thanks it's a really funny word and being the crowd pleas er that he is he says it as loud as he can in the cutest southern draw.
On another note my camera of 4 years has bit the dust...that's why you haven't seen any pics in a while. While I would love to get the Nikon D90 that is just not in the cards for us right now being that I'm a stay at home mom and all. $900 is a lot to shell out for a camera. So do you guys have a camera that you recommend in about the $300-$400 range?
With that I leave you with these sweet pictures of my precious nephew Landon. Is he the cutest thing you've ever seen? He will be 2 month tomorrow...LOVE HIM!!!
