Diamonds are a girls best friend!

Thirsty Thursday - Met Scott for lunch today as he is on his Paternity leave for the next few weeks. We met at Coopies a restaurant in Fire Wheel that we love. He'd done a little shopping before hand which include a couple of sleepers for little MC, a vest for him (Christmas Pics on Saturday) and a gift bag from Zales for me!!! He bought me diamond stud earrings!!! I was shocked. I was afraid he was going to buy me another Coach or Dooney and I really hoped that he didn't because I already have several of those and really wanted something different. So now I'm sporting my new bling....they're absolutely beautiful!

Milestones

Okay...so there's been a few milestone for Mason in these last couple of days. First, on Monday we tried rice cereal ( I got it on video I'll post soon) and yesterday he rolled from his tummy to his back three times! I've been waiting for him to do this for a while. Yeah Mason!!!

Mason's First Halloween.

Mom...why do I have to wear this?!?!
Too much candy...Just Kidding.

The Family

Mommy and her little Bear

The two "Loves of my Life"

Okay....so it's been a while...sorry life has been crazy. We had so much fun on Halloween, we got together with several of our neighbors and had lots of food and adult beverages. Mason wore his Halloween costume for all of 10 minutes before he got pissed! I don't blame him though...who wants to wear a hot bear costume when it 80 plus degrees outside...not my little bear! We have a lot going on this month so I will try to keep you up to speed. This Friday is my 27th birthday (when did that happen) and Scott will be out of town so I will be spending it with "Baby Mason" and a few neighbors. On Saturday we're celebrating mine and my mom's birthday at my favorite tex-mex restaurant and then going back to my house for cake. My sister and brother-in law are also coming in town for the festivities and I'm soooo excited...it's been over a month since I've seen her and I'm really missing my sissy. Mason is such a good baby...he's going to bed between 8:00 pm and 8:30 pm and usually sleeps until 7:00 am. He learned that he has a voice and loves to use it. The other night he woke me up because he decided to carry on a conversation with Mr. Giraffe and himself for about 30 minutes and then passed out...it was the cutest thing. He had his 4 month check-up this past Monday and is weighing in at 15 lbs (50th percentile) and 25 inches long (95th percentile). Okay...well I better run so much to do and so little time.

Baby Boy

To My Son

I look to you with hope and pride;I see your future brightly.Your deep concerns and aspirationsI will not take lightly.
The future is a mysteryThat everyone explores.I'll share your possibilities,Embrace your distant shores.
I'll answer you when questions stir,Encourage you, implore you.But life's a challenge shaped by dreams,A gift I can't live for you.
So live it well; respect it fully;Play your spirit out.Seek and then discoverAll the best that life's about.
Remember that you're not alone -My love is always there. The challenge that defines your lifeMy heart will gladly share.
You're on a voyage into time,A trip to somewhere new.You may not always see me there,But I'll be there with you

But Mommy I don't want to wake up!

This is what I was greeted to when I went in to wake my little CoccaNut. He's so much fun in the morning...I get a ton of smiles!

Going back to work

One of the most difficult experiences for me was returning to work after my maternity leave. When I was pregnant, I thought I'd have my baby, take my time off, and then be raring to go back to the real world of work. Nothing could have been further from the truth.
Around the fourth week of my twelve-week leave, I started dreading my return to work. The night before returning I cried, barely slept, and cried again the next day. Returning to work stirs up so many emotions. Some mothers feel like failures because they can't be home to raise their children. All kinds of feelings, unlike any ever experienced, suddenly rush in and overwhelm. It's a very trying time.

My little CoccaNut is snoozing while I catch up on some current events and enjoy my Starbucks Iced Coffee...yum. I'm feeling very sentimental today as it gets closer to the day that I go back to work. Here's I poem I would like to share that my mom sent to me.

A NEW MOM AND DAD - JENNIFER AND SCOTT
A mommy and daddy you two will soon be (and now you are).
To a tiny little baby so precious to thee (our little Mason).
When you brought him home you watched him with love.
You brought him in this world with a hand from above.
So precious and beautiful, and looks just like you.
Looking up in your eyes he will say I love you.
You will rock him, and kiss him, and hug him so much.
He will look in your face and smile to your touch.
Oh mommy and daddy I love you, I do!
When you kiss me, and hug me, I get chills through and through.
You will love him forever, and ever for sure.
You will peek in his room, before closing the door.
You will change him and feed him, and dress him with pride
And then you'll be ready to go for a ride.
When he's in the car, he will fall fast asleep.
And when you get home, you won't hear a peep.
On his first day of school, you will be so proud.
When you see him get off the bus with the rest of the crowd.
He will smile and be happy when he see's your face .
So happy for him that his first day was aced.
On his first date, you will worry a lot.
If that person he's seeing will be right or not.
Oh boy!!! The wedding, what a wonderful day.
But you have to let go and give him away.
You will cry with happiness for your baby is grown.
And he will then start a family of his own.
So mommy and daddy, be loving and blessed.
That you brought this little baby into your nest.
You will nurture, and fuss, and do all you can do.
To make his life wonderful, and he will always love you.
Love (Mom) Grandma DD............thank you for my wonderful Grandson!

Week 12

Okay, this time a week from today will be my first day back to work and my little CoccaNuts first day away from me. I'm torn as this day gets closer...I'm looking forward to being back in the real world, but I'm distraught about leaving my little one for the first time. He's turning into such a wonderful baby...last night he spent the first night in his crib. I didn't get any sleep for fear of something happening to my little boy so I spent most of the night staring at the video monitor watching him breath. Okay, well I'm off to Target to buy items for CoccaNuts first day with the sitter. Wish me luck!
