Things that made me smile today

• Giving and receiving Butterfly Kisses


• Mason throwing his blanket over my head and saying "where's mommy"


• Then Mason joining me under his blanket and saying "hi" followed with a kiss


• Me asking Mason where his kitty was and him saying "I don't know" and then calling out Magic (are cats name is Maverick) Magic


• Me calling his NahNah and when she said "Hi Mason" He screamed "Little Man" into the phone. She calls him Little Man quite a bit


• Taking Mason to the book store and seeing his love for books


• Listening to Mason sing


• Ending the day by sharing a hot fudge sundae with my little man at Braums


• After saying our prayers Mason fist pumps up and say "AHMEN"

Those are just the ones that I remember. He truly is a funny little thing and keeps me smiling and laughing all through out the day.

So Thankful

Before becoming a SAHM (stay at home mom) I use to be thankful for a new outfit from Banana Republic or a new pair of designer jeans, but now those things are few & far between. Now days I'm thankful for a pair of my old jeans that I can fit into! ;)~ This Monday morning when most people might have a case of the Mondays...me and my little man...not so much. This morning we had breakfast together and then we watched Good Night Moon a couple of times and by about 9:30 we changed out of our jammies and went to run a few errands. Our first stop was Starbucks were I enjoyed a cup of black coffee and Mason had chocolate milk. We sat out on the patio and soaked up the warm morning sun. Mason was so cute he would look at me and point at my coffee and say Mama's and then take a sip of his milk and say "AHHH". Then it was off to Walmart to get a couple of things for a new dish that I'm making. One last stop at the cleaners and now we're home. I love running errands with him.

What's going on with Mason:

He talks nonstop. When you ask him what his name is he will tell you Mason...and he can recognize his name when he sees it written.

He loves to come up to you and say "tickle, tickle" while tickling you on your neck.

He's recognizing his numbers. When he wants to he will tell you what number a certain number is.

Daylight savings time has been great for his schedule. I was really worried about how light it would be when he was going to bed, but surprisingly he's adjusted really well. He goes to bed now at 7:30pm (before DST it was 6:30), wakes up at 8ish and then takes his nap at 1:00 for about 2 1/2 - 3 hours. I'm really digging this schedule.

He knows a few of his colors.

He knows where the "time-out" spot is and will go sit there as soon as I tell him too. I think he thinks this is a game more the a consequence...we still need to work on this.

All in all in my eyes...he's perfect.

What we've been up to

Yesterday Scott had a day off so we decided to go drive out to Willow Bend Mall and let Mase play in their adorable playscape inside the mall. He had a blast, but as usual he eventual got bored with it and took off running into Bath and Body Works. Can you imagine the damage he would have done in Bath and Body Works had I not caught him soon enough?

Today we have a busy day planned because we're leaving to go to Austin this afternoon. My mom is going with us so she'll be able to help with Mason while we drive down. I need to go to Walmart and find a few new toys to keep Mason's mind occupied for the drive. Any suggestions?

On another note, is anyone as excited as Mason and I are about the new Yo Gabba Gabba's that started yesterday? Here at the Cocca house we are BIG fans of Yo Gabba Gabba. As soon as Mase wakes up in the morning he says Whoa Whoa...Where's Whoa? That translates to mean: Hey Woman...I want to watch Yo Gabba Gabba. I can't wait for their LIVE show to come to town because we are going.

The Cupcakery

Mason spent Saturday night with my parents so Sunday morning Scott and I went to Cedar Hill to pick him up and on the way home we took Mason to the cutest little cupcake shop in Uptown Dallas across the street from The Crescent and Hotel ZaZa. Mason had strawberry short cake cupcake. I had The Southern Bella (red velvet) and Scott has peanut butter ganche. We had such a great time and the owner said that he's looking at possibly opening one in Rockwall in the Harbor Development...so cool.

Can I please just freeze time?!?!

I would like to freeze time because Mason is growing up so quickly. He's already wearing a size 2t and his 2 birthday is right around the corner. I absolutely love this stage that he's in. He's so sweet and cuddly and wants to sit in my lap all the time. He'll randomly just walk up to me and kiss me knee or my arm over and over. He continues to amaze me. He know how to make me laugh and will randomly walk in the kitchen where I may be loading the dish washer, making coffee or cooking breakfast and throw his hands up in the air and say "OH GOSH"! It's absolutely the cutest thing I've ever heard. The other day my mom taught him how to say "hurt you" because he was doing something that will hurt him. So yesterday I was straightening my hair with my Chi and he walked in and said "hot" and then he said "hurt you"...he blows my mind. He loves for me to sit in the foyer with him he will stand at one end and me at the other and I will push one of his trucks down the hardwoods, he'll run back and bring it to me and sit down and wait for me to do it again. If at any time I get on the phone he climbs up on the table and starts screaming "dance, dance".

The most unbelievably, unmanageable love that I have for this little person who calls me Mommy I can't even begin to describe. I'm so thankful for everyday that I have with him. I know I can't freeze time and as my sister told me today that he's not mine...that God sent him to me to grow, nurture and get him ready to send out into the world. For now in this moment he is "mine" and I won't take a day for granted!

Feelin Good

Just finished my morning workout...P90X kicks butt!!! It's only 6:00 and I've already had my coffee (on my second cup now), put a load of laundry in the wash and worked out...man that's a great start to the rainy Monday!

The weather was awesome this weekend!!! We got some great outdoors time. I love being able to open the back door and let Mase play in the back yard. I can get a lot done in the kitchen while he does that. I love how are floor plan of our house is laid out so that I can see him out back while I'm still inside. Saturday we went the whole family went to Harry Myers park and then had dinner on that patio and Primos. Mason loved looking at the lake and kept saying "Boat".
Sunday I went to church, Scott and I take turns going to church because we aren't quite ready to put Mason in children's church. This week it was my turn to go. When I got home I found a new camera sitting on the counter!!! Scott and Mase went to Best Buy and bought us a new camera. So now I can start posting sweet pictures of my precious "baby" boy...hey he's still my baby!

In other news...My mom, Mason and I are going to Austin next Tuesday...see that's what I love about being a stay at home mom...we can just get up and go whenever we please. ;) This is my sisters last week of maternity leave and she needs someone to watch Landon on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and that's where we fit into the pictures. I'm so excited to see Baby L and all of his chubbyness...is that a word?!?!
