Viva Las Vegas

Several months back Scott and I went to Vegas for my Thirty plus one birthday. we went with a couple that we're super close with and have gone on multiple trips together. They first trip we took together was to Europe and neither one of us had children and the second time we went to Cabo and Mase had just turned one. Fun times always happen when the four of us get together and this trip wasn't the exception. We stayed at the MGM...which I love. There's always so many people there and i love to people watch. My birthday dinner was at Prime at the Bellagio, with a beautiful view of the fountains and the fiddles were mighty tasty. That same night we were walking around the Bellagio and saw a sign that one of my celebrity crushes would be at the club Hyde. There was a huge line to get into this club...my friend Kasi just walked right up to the front of the line and said that we were ready to go in and they let us right in. We felt so young and hip. If you're wondering who my celebrity crush is it's Charlie Hunnam...he plays Jax on Sons of Anarchy. Such a fun night and trip.

What's Cookin

For those of y'all that know me, you know that I have a passion for cooking. One of my go to blogs for recipes is www.ourbestbites.com I have made several of their dishes and they've all turned out great. Recently, I made Tortellini Spinach Bake in Creamy Lemon Sauce and it did not disappoint! Super easy to make. The only adjustment I made was after pouring the milk into the roux I added about a half cup of grated Parmesan. It makes the sauce a little thicker. It's a must try.

Cousins at the zoo

Last week the my my sister and I and our clan went to the Dallas Zoo. We are pretty seasoned when it comes to zoo outings. We've both been members for several years now. The great thing about being members is that there's no commitment to seeing everything because you're a member and can always come back and see it next time. I do think that on this particular visit we did see everything though. All the boys did so great. The babies had a blast. This was actually Drew's second and I think Owen's second visit too, but they were little babies then and my sister and I were both still nursing. Such a different experience this go around. We always bring our lunch to the zoo and have a picnic. I packed mine about a hour before we left...I'm sure my sister packed hers the night before, but, I'm kind of last minute like that. The Dallas Zoo has changed so much in the last couple of years and has really turned into a fantastic place to spend an afternoon!

Weekend wind down

Just got home from the gym and looking forward to a shower and hopping in bed to watch our favorite Sunday shows. I could not live with out Showtime and HBO...they have the best series. Shameless, californication, House of Lies, Homeland, True Blood and Girls...just to name a few. Are you watching any of these? I recently got my sister and her husband hooked on a few of the above and she got is hooked on True Blood.

We didn't do much this weekend. I had lunch with a friend and then we walked around Target without children...talk about a treat. Today we made a trip to Lowes and that was about it. It was kind of nice to not have any real plans. I did take lots of pictures though!

Sick Day

This little precious bundle is sick so excuse me while I comfort him and do what he wants me to do the most...hold him. I hope he feels better after his nap so that we can go out an enjoy this spring day in January. Tomorrow it's off to the Zoo with my sister. Four boys and two cray cray moms will for sure lead to great adventures!

The post where I embarrass myself

Yesterday, Mason and I were working on writing our family rules.  One of our rules is that we start our morning with a Dance Party.  This doesn't happen every morning and sometimes it takes place in the evening like last night, but a few days ago I thought I would record one of our dance parties.  This is absolutely going to be terribly embarrassing for me, but I'm trying to let go of all of that and just go with it.  If you listen closely you can hear Mason scream "turn it up" at the beginning.  And by all means please don't be jealous of my dance skills.

 So with out further ado....

A token Tuesday

 How you doin? (Wendy Williams voice)  Yesterday, was a day...we have a lot of good days at this house, but the CoccaNuts had different plans for yesterday.  Those two ganged up on my all.day.long! At the end of the day I text my sister to see if she had had a similar day...sure enough her boys had put her through the ringer too.

On Monday Stephanie's husband called Scott to see if he and Mason wanted to go to the Mavs game with him and Brent.  I had to get a picture of these studs before leaving. 

 I really hope these two stay buds forever.

While they were at the game I was very much enjoying my alone time so that I could watch Gossip Girl with out Scott making fun of me and asking me if I was going to go shop at Forever21 too.  I digress...I had the game on mute incase I caught a glimpse of them on tv...wouldn't you know it I happen to look up at the right time and spotted Jeff and Brent.  I paused and then I was able to spot Scott and Mason too.

 Drew loves bath time....and drool.  More teeth...we already have eight. Yesterday, during all the chaos all three of us decided to get in the bath together. Let's just say...more water on the floor then in the bath. 

 Griffin Dog! He has a nice plush bed in our room, but prefers to sleep under Scott's pants.

I will say that the snow was a nice surprise yesterday morning and I really enjoy the way my living room looks (minus the baby wipes in the middle of the floor) before the shorties wake-up.  Once they're up...well...all bets are off. 

This is more like it. Monster truck on my kitchen table, a baby doing dishes, Mason dancing around in his Calvin's and Griffin waiting for a snack to drop.
