And it's Monday

I started the weekend off by taking Mason to my mom at her office in Dallas.  Mason said that he was tired and needed a little nap. So nap he did.  I still can't get enough pictures of my boys sleeping.  Wonder if I'll still be doing this when they're sixteen years old? He spent the weekend with his Nonny and Papa and came home on Sunday with lots of funny stories.  One that really makes me laugh is that he said Nonny said Damn, which I know is not true because the woman just doesn't cuss...end of story.

On Saturday we just took it easy.  Lots of playing and chasing and wearing me out. At one point I couldn't find Drew....and then I found him going through the cat door.  Mystery solved.

Guess I should feed him
On Saturday night we went to a good friends birthday party at Nick and Sam's Grill. Delish! We can't wait to go there.  I had our babysitter snap a picture of us before leaving.  I want more pictures of us and of me with the kids.  Speaking of babysitter..it always embarrassing when you receive a text that says the baby is fine, but can you tell me where I can find some toilet paper?  And then you have to tell her to go into your room which is an absolute disaster and grab some from your bathroom.  UGH!

This is what I looked like after the weekend...one word...tired!

One more thing...I'm extremely late to the whole Gossip Girl thing, but I can't get enough! It's what I do while I fold laundry.  Usually I set my notebook up on my bed and fold away.

Say what...

I do pretty well keeping calm through out the day with my children, but come 4:30pm all bets are off.  We've been trapped in the house for days because is it really worth it to get two children out in this cold wet nasty weather?!?!  At about 4:30 in the evening I usually turn into "mean mommy".  I hate mean mommy.  Mason was tired and Drew was whining and get into everything.  I put him in his high chair for dinner while administering a time out for Mason.  Mason was kicking the door in his room and I feared that at any moment he was going to kick the door down.  So, I left Drew in his high chair snacking on some Pirates Booty...not knowing that I forgot to strap him in.  Well...after getting things under control with Mason we walk downstairs and find Drew walking out of the living room headed to meet us at the stairs.  He climbed out of his high chair!!!  The look on his face was priceless...he was holding his milk cup (couldn't forget that) and slapping his chest with this huge smile plastered across his face. How does a baby climb out of a high chair...with his milk cup?  Mason was equally shocked and asked me if i wanted to take a picture...more like a video, Mase.  In the last few weeks this one year old of mine has turned into a spider monkey.  Most days I can handle the get into everything baby, but the climbing in and out and onto everything baby has mean flat worn out!  Yesterday, I just needed five minutes of quiet and hands free so I put him in his high chair and rolled him straight up to the television and turned on some baby programming hoping to just sit and relax...he didn't even last 2 minutes.

This is not my first rodeo with a baby that gets into everything, but Drew...I think he might be a freak of nature.

Blue Eyed Angel

Excuse my little blue eyed angel's attire...he's has had a nasty cold for the last few days, but isn't this picture precious?!?! Actually, for the last three weeks everyone at the CoccaNut's house has had some kind of funk.  Kind of nuts that out of all the toys this guy received for his birthday and Christmas that he has the most fun playing on Griffin's dog bed and a spray bottle. Go figure.

We're four days in to the New Year and we haven't done much to speak of.  A trip to Target is a must today though...I have Christmas money burning a hole in my pocket. Speaking of Target...are you following @targetdoesitagain on instagram?  If not, you must...they find the neatest stuff.  Follow me too...@mom_to_coccanuts

Mason starts back to school on Monday...he's so ready.  Everyday for the last week he's asked me if it's a school day. I'm not sure if I'm ready for him to start back yet though...I'm pretty use to staying in my pjs all day now. Not quite sure if that's acceptable for preschool drop off...guess I'll have to break out my fake out clothes.  And while we're talking about Mason...how is it even possible that he's exactly six months away from being five? That's nuts y'all!  We think he'll probably start kinder this year, but aren't a 100% sure yet.

I should run...been on the interwebs for the last two hours while Drew has napped and Mason has been parked in front of my iPad...bad mommy!

Happy Happy New Year!

Hello 2013!  You couldn't get here fast enough!  To say 2013 was trying would be an understatement, but I don't want to dwell on the past...just look forward.

These four boys melt my heart and keep me laughing!

Girls Weekend Getaway

We have a very busy fall coming up with a few trips planned.  The first is a trip I've been planning for myself and a few of my closest girlfriends. At the end of October we are going to spend a weekend in Beavers Bend, Oklahoma at a beautiful seven person cabin with a wrap around deck.  All of us are looking forward to a weekend with out babies and kids.  There will be no filling up sippy cups...just wine cups.  We may do a little horse back riding, hopefully a little hiking and a lot of relaxing in the hot tub. I know all of us are really looking forward to a little down time even if is for just a few nights.  I've never done a girls trip before...I hope we make it an annual or bi-annual event. This will be the first time I've left Drew overnight.  It will be a good trial run for when we leave for Vegas for my Thirty Plus One Birthday Party.  Here's a link to the cabin we are staying in.

I better run because today is early release day for Rockwall ISD and I'm keeping a bunch of girls for a few of my friends.  It's going to be a little nutty around her this afternoon.  At least MC will be at school  until 2:30.

The post where I talk about breastfeeding

Hard to believe that it's getting close to time to wean Drew from nursing.  We have been at it for about ten months and I plan to introduce whole milk next month.  I'm hoping the weaning process goes smoothly. I know I'm going to miss nursing him for many reasons, but especially for the convenience factor.  Breastfeeding was so easy this time around.  With Mason the first eight weeks were pretty dicey. I wanted to give up everyday, but pushed through. With Drew, it just clicked right away for both of us.  Don't get me wrong it was still gut wrenching pain every time he latched on for about a week or so, but then it went away.  I still can't believe we are at this point. It really seems like just the other day I was in his room with him snug in my belly, organizing.  Hanging up little tiny onesies, putting toys on shelves in his closet that he wouldn't be able to play with for quite a while...And  now all of those tiny onsies have been packed away...some of the toys too.  Drew's first year has flown by at lighting speed.  I still can't believe we are close to celebrating his first birthday.  When "they"say with the second baby everything goes so quickly...you better believe it.  I'm trying to soak in every minute of this baby stage because who knows what the future holds. The way his hair smells when I gently sway back and forth before laying him down, the way his little hand moves when he signs "milk", the way he growls when you ask him what the lion says, the way he lights up when he sees me walk into a room, the way he says bubba when he sees Mason.  I could go on and on.  I hope he slows down a little bit, but as I look at his older brother who is now four...I'm well aware that he won't.

Mason's First Day of Pre-K

Mason started Pre-K this morning.  This is his third year of preschool. So, needless to say this morning was rather anticlimactic. Ms. Becky and Ms. Lori seem super and I'm looking forward to how his day went.  Seems like it was just yesterday that I dropped him off at Mother's Day Out for the first time and came home and wrote this post. My boy...he's a growing up and time really seems to be a marching on. He had a great day and his teachers just raved about his bigger the life personality.  The especially pointed out how kind he was to his friends...which was my biggest worry about going back to school because lately he's been a wee bit aggressive.  He stayed the whole day and did well during rest time, but the major downside to him staying all day was the hot mess that he was when he came home.  When Mason gets tired he amps up to the tenth power.

And without further ado here's MC's First Day of Pre-K pictures
